Thimerosal Lawyers
You make sure your children are properly vaccinated to protect their health. So what do you do when dangerous vaccines may lead to serious injuries, including neurological damage? At the Portland, Oregon law offices of Williams Love O'Leary & Powers, we represent hundreds of injured children and their families seeking compensation for the devastating injuries that may have been caused by unnecessary exposure to a mercury-based vaccine additive called thimerosal.
Thimerosal is a mercury-containing preservative that was added to many pediatric vaccines, including the several new vaccines that were added to the standard immunization schedule in the early 1990's. As a result, many children were needlessly exposed to potentially dangerous levels of mercury via the shots. There is evidence that the form of mercury in thimerosal can cause brain inflammation in some children, possibly leading to neurological damage, developmental delays, and even autistic symptoms.
- Thimerosal in a mercury-containing preservative that was added to many pediatric vaccines
- Evidence suggests Thimerosal may cause neurological damage and autistic symptoms
- Infants and toddlers were exposed to unnecessarily high levels of mercury
Thimerosal was gradually phased out of most pediatric shots between 1999-2002, in response to concerns about the possible neurodevelopmental dangers and other health risks posed by exposing infants and toddlers to unnecessarily high levels of mercury.
While we are not currently accepting any new cases, we continue to represent families with claims in the "Omnibus Autism Proceeding" in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program in Washington, DC. Our firm is also active in the political arena, supporting efforts to fund and conduct scientific research into the possible health risks of thimerosal exposure in young children.
