Lawsuit against Providence Health Systems-Oregon for allegedly mishandling patient information

  Pills

Our law firm, along with our co-counsel Paul & Sugerman, PC, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Providence Heath Systems-Oregon for its alleged misconduct in failing to safeguard protected health information when it allowed an employee to store in his or her car the patient records of an estimated 365,000 patients, which were then stolen.  We filed the lawsuit in state court in Oregon.  The case has been assigned to Judge Marilyn Litzenberger.

Providence has admitted that the patient information was stolen.  The information in question included social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, and patient information.  As a result of the theft, the lawsuit alleges that the affected patients have been put in jeopardy of identity theft, with potential consequences that include abuse and misuse of confidential patient information, personal data, financial records, and benefit rights.

If you were a victim of this theft, call our lawyers or e-mail our law firm by submitting a Potential Case Form to learn more about your legal rights.
